Birchwood opened in Jindabyne ten years ago and was already a much-loved local cafe when we were lucky enough to take over in 2021. We've been looking after it ever since.

We met and fell in love in the Snowy Mountains nearly 20 years ago, and Birchwood brings together Kane's chef career and Laura's lifelong love of hospitality. Alongside the cafe there's now Birchy's Kiosk in Leesville, our catering and events, and Baby Birchy, our vintage coffee and cocktail van. Everything is made in our Jindabyne kitchen by a small team who care about fresh, seasonal food and looking after people.

We feel so lucky to live and work in this part of the world, and to be part of this community, from local events to training our apprentices. Come in and say hi.

THE CAFE

Open 7 days on Gippsland Street, right in the middle of Jindabyne, with an all-day breakfast menu and lunch. Locals keep coming back for the chilli scrambled eggs, green goddess shakshuka, avo on toast and our build-your-own burgers. There’s always something new on the specials board, and plenty of gluten free and vegan options.

We pour Single O coffee, and you can order ahead online to skip the queue. Grab a coffee before a day on the mountain, or settle in for lunch after one.
